TRIBIT StormBox Blast 2 Review

The TRIBIT StormBox Blast 2 aims to be bigger and better than the original. With a 200W output, enhanced waterproofing, and the latest wireless connection tech, TRIBIT isn’t messing around when it comes to quality of sound and hardware. It sounds great on paper, but how has it fared during real-world usage? Here is my review.

All-powerful

Let’s first dive deeper into that 200W output. The 200W total is made up of an 80W sub, two 45W mid-range drivers, and two 15W tweeters. At maximum volume, the StormBox Blast 2 gets incredibly loud, clearly prepped and ready for party experiences. Distortion is kept to an impressive minimum. The bass is super powerful but doesn’t become overwhelming.

With partying in mind, it’s worth highlighting the karaoke mode, which allows for up to two mics to be connected via the physical inputs or wirelessly. Users can sing along and fine-tune their vocals with reverb effects and other settings.

Light up the party

The RGB lighting goes a step further than simply looking cool, as users can make the lights reflect the music being played. Further lighting customization can be achieved through the dedicated app, if desired.

Safe from splashing

The waterproofing is rated at IP67, meaning it can handle water and dust to a high level. If you’re enjoying music by the pool or at the beach, this rating is reassuring.

Another big highlight is the battery life. Rated for up to 30 hours of playback, the StormBox Blast 2 should outlast even the most dedicated party animals. The big battery can be leveraged by those looking to charge their phone or other device, thanks to the available USB.

Heavyweight champion

The obvious downside of this product is its weight. Though it’s designed with portable applications in mind, it’s not the easiest thing to carry around. However, if you can get over the heft, there’s a lot to like about the StormBox Blast 2.
