Sylvox’s 2025 range of waterproof gaming TVs are designed for outdoor entertainment without compromise. For gamers looking to check all of the boxes when it comes to 4K resolution, high frame-rates, low-latency modes, HDMI 2.1, and other key modern must-have specs that makes gaming great, Sylvox is combining them all into an IP55 waterproof package. This is my review of the 55” version.
This big TV lives outside
First, let’s dive into what sets this TV apart from the competition and makes it ready for outdoor use. The IP55 rating comes from the metal design, allowing the internals to stay dry while also aiding it in more extreme temperatures. It’s clear from the unboxing experience that you won’t have to baby this TV, as the build quality is unlike anything I’ve seen before for a display.
The waterproofing nature extends to the remote, which can also handle the elements. It’s great to see Sylvox go the extra mile in ensuring all components are ready for the outside.
I tested Sylvox’s Rolling TV Cart alongside the television. It is worthy of highlighting for its capability outside. While it moves easily enough, it can be strategically locked to ensure wind doesn’t send the TV rolling down the garden.
Under the waterproof hood
So it can withstand the elements, but is the display tech beneath worthy of the protection? My 55” review sample comes equipped with a 4K 120 Hz LED screen that supports brightnesses up to 1000 nits. That brightness spec is especially important here, as 1000 nits can remain visible in partial sunlit areas. However, if you put the display in bright direct sunlight, then you’ll want nearer 2000 nits or above. For my usage, in the UK where sunshine in a cloudless sky is rarely a factor, 1000 nits has been great. If you’re in a sunnier areas, perhaps consider one of Sylvox’s brighter displays or put the display in a partly-shaded area.
Gaming fans will be pleased to hear that it supports an HDMI 2.1 input, with MEMC, FreeSync Premium Pro, and Auto Low Latency Mode all available.
The operating software is Google TV, meaning it’s very easy to set up and access popular streaming apps like Netflix, Disney+, and countless others. There’s nothing missing here. It’s good to see the TV’s processor enables reasonably smooth and speedy navigation through the various menus. You won’t need to resort to an Amazon Fire TV Stick to rescue the experience, which is especially good to hear given this TV’s outdoor use.
Big into gaming

Here at GameRevolution, we’re big into gaming. While the Sylvox 2025 gaming TV delivers a superb out-of-the-box experience, which can be tweaked further in the settings, there’s one big factor to bear in mind when setting up your PS5, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch outside: the consoles aren’t waterproof! This isn’t Sylvox’s problem, but buyers will have to move consoles back into their homes during bad weather, which is a tad inconvenient.
Alternatively, with good internet, users can stream games straight to the TV using apps like Xbox Game Pass.
A soundbar is another popular add-on for modern TVs, to make up for the often inadequate built-in speakers. With Sylvox’s 2025 gaming range, the dual 12W speakers work well for casual viewing and volume can get pretty loud without distorting. Dolby Atmos is supported here, and it works well. However, users who have gotten used to soundbar-level quality may yearn for more. Sylvox does offer waterproof soundbars, but they come at a significant premium.
Gotta pay to play

While Sylvox’s 2025 Gaming TV does a lot right and successfully delivers a compelling outdoor gaming experience with very few compromises, the elephant in the room is the price tag. With an RRP of $1,999 – though it’s currently on sale for $1,799 – this is obviously a premium purchase. At that price, users must really want the waterproofing features and be willing to forgo the higher peak brightness, screen technologies, and other benefits of indoor-focused $2,000 TVs. If that’s you, then great, as Sylvox has made the product that you want.

Final Verdict
At a price of $1,999 — though, again, it is currently discounted to $1,799 — the Sylvox 55” Waterproof Gaming TV is a premium option built for a specific kind of user. While it won’t be for everyone, those seeking a capable, outdoor-ready display with modern gaming features will find a lot to appreciate. It’s a unique product that delivers where it counts, and does so with extreme confidence.
