Subnautica 2 launches into early access on May 14, 2026 (or May 15, depending on your time zone), with Unknown Worlds revealing the global launch times across major regions.
It comes after the devs mentioned it would launch in 2026, albeit we didn’t know it was coming in Early Access, especially so soon.
What are the Subnautica 2 early access release times?

North American players get the earliest access on May 14 morning, while European players can jump in during the late afternoon/early evening. Asian-Pacific regions will see the launch roll into the late night of May 14 or the early morning hours of May 15, depending on time zone.
Also, be advised that because it launches on early access, that often means there will be no pre-order or preload. So, make sure to await the official launch in your time zone for the game.
We know the game will cost around $29.99 in USD, but regional pricing will be factored in, so, expect similar prices to what other game launches like at that price point.
The game’s early access release date and times announcement also came with a trailer. So, you can check out some hype if you so wish.
We also got a look at the new base building and coop features earlier this year.
It comes after the devs battled Nexon after the GPT firing legal incident, which has now led to the game being self-published on Steam. Essentially, what this means is that the devs are doing the launch exactly how they want it.
