Samson launched into early access earlier this month, and its launch has been hit with mixed reception. The game has had a rough performance launch, alongside some issues with the game affecting the joy and feel of it. So the developers have been hard at work patching Samson already, and now, the new Samson roadmap reveals that some major community requests are getting addressed.
What’s coming in the Samson Roadmap?
The third update coming on April 22nd brings major quality-of-life improvements across the board. Combat refinements lead the charge, with new car variants expanding vehicle options and keyboard vehicle tuning updates making car handling more accessible. The update also introduces a “Damage Taken” system affecting players, NPCs, and vehicles, alongside a walk button for keyboard users and time trial refinement. Performance optimization and bug fixes round out the patch.
Vehicle tuning has been one of the most common complaints about the game’s launch in early access. There are a lot of missions that want players to do time trials, alongside ramming people with their car. Some of the chase scenes online show how bad the tuning can be, with cars drifting into lights, walls, and other obstacles, thanks to how hard it is to steer and controlyour car.
This getting rectified early on is a good sign for things to come, and should turn those early reviews around.
The fourth update focuses on polish, addressing community-reported feedback with stability improvements, gameplay tweaks, and general refinements across the experience around the start of May.
The first major content drop around the middle of May centers on combat-focused additions. Details remain under wraps, but the combat-focused nature suggests new weapons, enemy types, or combat encounters are on the way.
The second content update due mid-June shifts focus to vehicles, likely introducing new car types, vehicle-based missions, or expanded driving mechanics to complement the April keyboard tuning improvements.
Finally, Samson is coming to consoles in the fall, marking the game’s expansion beyond PC. The exact platforms and release date remain to be announced. Though, given that GTA 6 release date is in the fall on consoles, its up agsinst some serios competitoon. Wishing them the best convincing them a game described as GTA-like to get sales around November, if that’s when they do launch. September or very early October seems like the best release window if fall is indeed the studio’s aim.
