Hyte is back at it again, melding form and function with the new Y70 mid-tower PC case. With its striking design and wide component compatibility, the Y70 aims to deliver a modern aesthetic without compromising on performance. With a higher price than average, the Hyte Y70 needs to deliver big. Here is my review after building and testing a black version of the PC case.
Design highlights
As soon as the Y70 is lifted out of its protective packaging, the volume of tempered glass makes itself known. The Y70 has a tempered glass side and front panel, which are joined by a third glass side. This means all components will be on display, making it an ideal choice for those aiming to build a beautiful showcase system.
The included vertical graphics card mount equipped with PCIe 4.0 is the next feature I noticed. What good is a showcase PC if the graphics card, one of the main attractions, is in its stock upside down configuration? Happily, the HYTE Y70 comes ready to showcase the graphics card with the cooler facing the side panel, I.e. the best angle. Additionally, it supports up to a 4-slot card, so even the biggest cards can be shown off in style.
Hide your mess
For those worried about too much being on display, including the inevitable cable clutter that can take hours to fully route and hide away optimally, the dual-chambered layout will come in clutch. While part of the system is on display, the other is shielded from view, which is where the power supply and bulk of the PC cables can be hidden away.
These headline features aren’t necessarily show stealers on their own, as competitors have also incorporated them, but put together and the Hyte Y70 stands out.
Easy build
Building in the Y70 is simple, even for newcomers. There is plenty of room maneuvering components in and out of the case and the wide range of support for various fans, radiators, and other parts should make even complicated builds headache-free. Of course, I would still advise checking the case’s specs for what exactly it can support, but it should be more than capable for 99% of users.
With the PC built and ready to go, I stood back and had to admit that the case looks damn good. Though I opted for black, a safe color choice, the Y70 looks simply stylish. Users can grab it in another color to match their setup or desired look.
While my review sample doesn’t include it, I should also mention the optional Touch Infinite Display Upgrade, seen in the video above. Those looking to push the boat even further with their showcase PC may be interested in this.
Good airflow, when you add fans
Performance is solid, too, with fans able to perform well despite the vast amount of tempered glass. Yes, the airflow would be better with more mesh, but HYTE has struck a good balance between form and function here.
Speaking of fans, the main downside of the HYTE Y70 is that it doesn’t come with any. For the price, I was expecting one or two, at the very least, but no, users will have to supply all desired fans and that will need to be factored into the total build cost.

Final Verdict
At $219.99, the HYTE Y70 is undoubtedly a premium choice. However, for those who want the best combination of aesthetics and performance, it is a solid option for those seeking a stylish, functional, and showcase-worthy PC case. While the lack of included fans is a drawback, its design and versatility make it well worth considering.
