StartCo, one of the most important conferences for tech in Latin America, will celebrate its sixth edition this year, reaffirming its position as the event-of-choice for entrepreneurs, investors and business leaders.
The conference will take place on April 3rd and 4th in the city of Medellín, Colombia, with its startup auction format that allows attendees to discover the best innovations from various industries, all while connecting founders with compatible VCs in a series of speed meetings.
Of the 300 startups that are chosen each year to participate in StartCo, this year the organization expects that 50% or more will come from international markets including Chile, Argentina, Mexico, the United States, Peru and Costa Rica.
“StartCo, since its inception, has aimed to be a global event, not only focused on Colombia, but to be the stage where the entire ecosystem of startups and entrepreneurship in Latin America comes together.” Juan Gabriel Arboleda, Founder & CEO of Starter Company SAS.
An agenda that shouldn’t be missed
This year’s event will feature Uri Levine, co-founder of Waze, the most important mobility application in the world with nearly 1,600 million users worldwide, along with other prominent voices in the industry such as Macarena Riva and Rosa Laura López, the founders of the podcast Chisme Corporativo.
Furthermore, for the first time a series of events will be held developed by leading players in the entrepreneurship ecosystem including Endeavor, Ruta N, Rockstar, Universidad EIA, Bogotá Chamber of Commerce and 500 Startups.
Among the scheduled activities will be breakfasts for investors, a demo day of Energytech companies managed by Grupo de Energía de Bogotá, and a demo day of startups founded by females from the accelerator program of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce.
The conference will also host Endeavor’s Expert Meetings, a space full of knowledge and networking with high-level mentors, as well as the Colombia VC Week event, one of the main meetings of investment funds and venture capital in Latin America, organized by the Rockstar accelerator.
More than 150 investment funds from all over Latin America are expected to participate in the event.
