Artificial intelligence startup Curious Thing AI, which is at the forefront of AI-powered voice responses to phone calls, now has a solution for annoying spam and robocalls.
The Sydney-based voice communication platform’s flagship product for small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs), Lucy, is an AI phone agent designed to replace traditional voicemail systems to help companies and people stay connected and responsive. Now Lucy is now equipped to identify and flag likely robocalls to help users with a smarter, more efficient way to manage incoming calls.
The robocall flagging feature is currently in beta, and CEO and cofounder Sam Zheng said they’re looking to refine and expand its capabilities based on real-world feedback.
“Robocalls are a daily annoyance for many professionals and businesses, and we’re committed to providing solutions that reduce these disruptions,” he said.

Zheng said future updates will continue to build on Lucy’s ability to handle a variety of call scenarios to streamline communications.
Zheng said Lucy now has thousands of active users in the US, UK, Australia, and Canada in a short few months and has quickly become a trusted tool for managing missed phone calls instead of voicemail.
Curious Thing’s clients have included Quitline, Calvary, Brighte, and Humm Group, as well as several councils and the legal services and healthcare sectors.
