- Durham’s restor3d, a medical manufacturing company building personalized 3D-printed orthopedic implants, raised a $38 million venture round, according to Crunchbase.
- Zero Industrial Inc., a Charleston, South Carolina-based clean energy startup, raised a $10 million Series A, according to Crunchbase.
- Atlanta’s early-stage VC firm Valor Ventures has backed Acuity Behavioral Health. The Atlanta-based startup, which has AI-powered solutions for the mental health profession, raised a $1.5 million seed round. Details here.

- Sloss Tech, the tech and innovation conference in Alabama, announced today that advisor, futurist and former Head of Go-To-Market at OpenAI Zack Kass will be among the featured keynote speakers at Sloss Tech 2025. - The Company Lab (CO.LAB)officially announced the five new founders who were selected in the Spring ‘25 cohort of the Sustainable Mobility Accelerator, powered by gener8tor. The teams were vetted by an esteemed capital committee and corporate partners who are experts in the fields of mobility and energy. Each founder will receive $20,000 of funding with potential for up to $100,000 following the completion of this 12-week program. - The Center for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) announced the nine new companies that have been accepted into its GRO Incubator. Those selected include Artificially Digital, Citrus Oncology, Environmental Answers, Rad Systems, Scale Social AI, Scyntek, Selah Innovations Synap Biotech, and Tessifi Medical. - Columbus and the broader region have launched a new initiative, Choose Columbus. Leading this effort is a veteran economic developer, Missy Kendrick, EDFP, IOM, who will officially assume the role of President and CEO on May 12.
