For Southeast startups, this week brought early-stage funding news and impressive acquisition headlines. As you catch up on work and prepare to wind down for the weekend, here is a round up of what happened across the region:
Atlanta-based EnviroSpark, an electric vehicle charging startup with national reach, announced Thursday it had secured a $50 million investment from London-based Basalt Infrastructure Partners LLP. The funding will go towards “rapidly [expanding] its owned and operated network across the US,” according to a press release.
Raleigh-based MuukTest has raised $2 million from existing investors, according to reports from Triangle Inno. Hypepotamus talked to the MuukTest team back in 2021 as the startup was diving into artificial intelligence work to improve QA testing.
Atlanta-based Andson Biotech, a biotools company developing streamlined sample prep and data analytics solutions for mass spectrometry workflows, has successfully closed a $3.6 million round in equity financing. This capital will support hiring talent to accelerate the market introduction of its inline mass spec sample prep solution, DynaCHIP. More from the startup’s press release here.
DefenseStorm, the leading provider of cyber risk management solutions and co-managed services to financial institutions, recently completed a Series C-1 raise. The round was led by a number of existing investor partners, including Georgian, Curql, and Live Oak Ventures. Joining the round is new investor the Btech Consortium Fund, a group of community banks leveraging technology to better serve their customers. Details on the raise here. This collaboration enables Seyond to deploy and validate its LiDAR solutions in a real-world environment in an effort to create safer streets and smoother traffic flow for both vehicles and vulnerable road users (VRUs) in Peachtree Corners.
